1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Men for Change website and services. By using the platform you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy policy.
2. Not an emergency or legal service
Men for Change is not an emergency service and does not give legal, medical or psychological advice. If you are in danger, call 10111 or 112 from a cell phone. The guidance on our Get help page is general information only; please speak to a qualified professional about your situation.
3. Reporting honestly and safely
When you submit a report, you confirm that it is true to the best of your knowledge. You agree not to:
- name, or include details that could identify, any other person;
- make false, defamatory or malicious claims;
- include threats, hate speech or anything unlawful.
Our moderators review every report. We may edit a report to protect privacy, or decline to publish it, at our discretion.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you write. You give Men for Change permission to publish your moderated report anonymously (or under your display name if you choose), and to include it in anonymised statistics, research and advocacy. Signed-in members can delete their reports at any time.
5. Accounts
Accounts are optional. Keep your password private and let us know at hello@menforchange.org if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't try to identify, contact or harass the people who share their experiences.
- Don't interfere with the platform, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it.
- Don't collect content from the platform in bulk to use against the people in it.
7. Donations
Donations are voluntary. You can give by card through our payment provider, Yoco, or by bank transfer from your own bank; please check our account details carefully before making a transfer. Card donations are once-off. If you made a mistake with a payment, contact us with your payment reference and we'll do our best to help.
8. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep the platform accurate, available and secure, but we provide it “as is”. Stories reflect the experiences of the people who shared them and are not findings of fact. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the platform.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
